Unsharted 3: Deceptive Linen

I’ve spent this, and last, week doing a stupid amount of running around, for work and various chores. In the middle of the week, I brought my boyfriend to his flight for Chicago, where he’s visiting with a friend until next week. Since then, it’s just me been and the dog, and all the thoughtful conversations in-between.

There’s also been a lot of Uncharted, which is once again the new standard for provoking story-telling in the video game medium. The animations in the game are phenominal; it’s amazing how much more realistic and engrossing a simple leaning animation makes a game. Drake traverses the varied settings of the latest adventure blockbuster from Sony and Naughty Dog with unparalleled smoothness, while selling each motion to the hilt. Of course there’s the massive amount of platforming which would be totally impossible by a man of Drakes build, considering the insane amount of upper body strength needed; but developer Naughty Dog isn’t the first game studio to give a wink to such inhuman allowances. The arguement could be easily made that, that is the whole point.

I’ll probably work up a full review of the game once I’ve completed the single player campaign. Just wanted to gush a bit while I begin another workday, on a fucking Saturday no less.
